Negotiations are underway for multiple collective employment agreements (CEA). These involve various providers including the hospice, urgent care, and surgical sectors.  

Nurses Society director David Wills is the lead advocate and negotiator for all the claims. 

"Despite challenging economic circumstances positive outcomes are anticipated across all these claims."  

This relative optimism is due to a number of factors including:

*   Past experience

*   Adept bargaining with a collaborative approach 

*  Shared interest to achieve a mutually acceptable outcome 

*  Common interest in achieving conditions conducive to retaining experienced practitioners

*  Realistic expectations by all parties 

*  Plus, good employers recognise the need for competitive salaries and fair conditions.
