The Nurses Society has successfully renewed a collective agreement (CA) for nurses and other staff at Bidwill Trust Hospital Timaru.
The settlement means nurses at the facility now have base salary rates 6% above the recently increased Health NZ | Te Whatu Ora rates.
The new agreement also provides for paid partner childbirth leave, with other key allowances also boosted.
Staff in some positions had a 17% boost to their rates.
Nurses Society director, David Wills, says the new collective is an excellent outcome for all parties.
"All of the CAs we have in the not-for-profit and private sector have rates at least on par with Te Whatu Ora, which is always our objective."
Te Whatu Ora salaries are typically used as a benchmark for rates across the health sector.
