The Abuse in Care - Royal Commission of Inquiry Report is a shocking account of historic and contemporary abuse and neglect of children and vulnerable adults in State care, as well as that of faith-based organizations more generally.

o   The report documents the horrific abuse and neglect of children, young people, and adults who were in the care of these institutions, often unwillingly.

o   Some of this abuse was committed by nurses and other staff, in particular those employed at Lake Alice Hospital and the Kimberley Centre during that time period.

o   We believe that the report is essential reading for all health professionals. You can read the report and summaries here.

o   Here is a brief account of some of the key recommendations in the report.

o   We honour the bravery and strength of the survivors who contributed to this report, as well as those who were not able to come forward.
