The Society has successfully renewed a collective employment agreement (CEA) for nursing staff at Otago Community Hospice (OCH).

Key features of the agreement include:

o   a 4.5 to 6.5% backdated increase pay increased for 2023

o   4 to 7% increases in March next year

o   a further 3% increase in September 2024.

The 2023 salary increases are additional to the pay disparity increases.

The increases will mean the 2024 annual base rates for registered nurses will range from to $75K for a new graduate and to over $106K for a year seven registered nurse.  Senior nurse rates for 2024 will range from $110K for a clinical coordinator to $151K for a nurse practitioner.

The previous OCH CEA was also negotiated by the Society.  Since then OCH rates have always matched or exceeded DHB and now Te Whatu Ora rates.
