Despite most nurses not being on the Straight to Residence Green List pathway, this year a record 4,500 internally trained nurses have registered with Te Kaunihera Tapuhi o Aotearoa the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
Plus, close to 3,000 nurses have reportedly entered the country during the pandemic.
In a ‘normal year’ typically 2,000 to 3,000 internationally trained nurses enter the country.
